Useful Information
Following on from the Covid-19 crisis, we are returning to normal.
Routine appointments, both face to face and by telephone are now available to book.
For urgent matters we have a daily triage list, a GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner will call and assess the need for an appointment, where appropriate an appointment will be given.
Below is a link to the Primary Care Communication Toolkit which explains how services including GP practices, dental practices, optomotrists and pharmacies are being delivered. We hope you find helpful.

Travel Immunisations
NHS Dumfries and Galloway have now mandated that in line with the rest of Scotland, all Travel immunisations for all patients across Dumfries and Galloway should now be provided by designated immunisation centres :-
Dalbeattie,
Glenluce,
Greyfrairs
and Lochthorn
Information in relation to the immunisation centres can be found at:
- This website can be used to check what vaccinations are required (if any)
- This is not a NHS service so charges will apply
- Contact immunisation centre at earliest opportunity to ensure timely vaccination
COVID Vaccine Certification
Unfortunately GP practices are unable to provide vaccination certification and cannot issue vaccination exemption certificates. To obtain your vaccination status you need to download the NHS COVID Vaccination Status app. This will allow access to a digital copy of your vaccine record on your mobile device. You need a passport or driver’s licence to complete the identity check. You can also request a paper copy of your vaccine certificate from NHS Inform. Use this if you don’t have a passport or driver’s licence.
Private Medicals
Should you require a private medical examination, please phone and we will be happy to offer you an appointment. The cost of most private medicals is £85.00. For HGV medicals, you will be required to visit your optician beforehand to have an up-to-date eye test.
Contacting the Practice
Can we please request that patients or carers avoid telephoning the surgery between 8.30 am - 9 am and 5 pm - 6 pm for non urgent enquiries.
If you have difficulty getting through at any other time, please let us know.
Your co-operation is appreciated and please feel free to make suggestions to improve communication.
Non NHS Requests
On occasions we are asked to undertake non NHS treatment or administrative work. There is a charge for this service as this involves additional work for the doctor and administrative team.
Feedback
If you disagree with the way your GP wants to treat you, or you are unhappy about the service provided by your GP surgery, tell them openly.
However, if you feel unable to do so or you are unhappy with the response you receive, you may wish to make a complaint.
All GP surgeries should have a written complaints procedure and you will find this at reception or on the practice website.
As a first step, speak to the practice manager. You can complain to the practice verbally or in writing.
If this does not resolve the problem, or you would rather not raise the issue directly with the practice, you can complain to the Health Board via the Complaints Department.
Please contact Mr Campbell Watt, Practice Manager by telephone on 01556505900 or in writing.

Online Prescriptions
https://patient.emisaccess.co.uk
We are now able to offer an online prescription ordering service. To sign up for this, please contact reception with proof of identification. A member of the team will explain to you how the service works and provide you with a registration letter which will contain your unique access code. You will then be able to log on and order medication which is on your repeat prescription list.
