Our health is greatly influenced by the lifestyle that we lead. In particular, diet, smoking and exercise are three areas in which we can help ourselves to 'good health'.

Diet

There is now a substantial amount of research which shows that being overweight has a detrimental effect on health.

www.medicaldirect.co.uk has information on fitness and well being Blood Pressure Checks It is recommended that everyone over the age of 45 should have their blood pressure checked at least every five years.

You can have high blood pressure without any symptoms. Treatment of high blood pressure is important in the prevention of strokes and heart disease. If you have not had your blood pressure checked recently, please use the machine in the waiting room, or make an appointment with the Health Care Assistant to have this done.
