Administration

Administration staff provide important support to the clinical team. Receptionists are the public face of the practice and deal with all enquiries, both face to face and on the telephone.

We have four secretaries who not only provide secretarial services to the GPs, but also liaise with patients and clinical staff from outside the practice. Reception and secretarial staff are also responsible for data entry, keeping our computer system up to date.

The Practice Manager is responsible for the business side of the practice and provides financial, managerial and IT support to the general practitioners to enable them to concentrate on the clinical care of their patients.

Campbell Watt, Practice Manager

Campbell Watt is our Practice Manager and is responsible for non-clinical aspects of the practice.

Angela Murray, Administrative Assistant

Angela is responsible for doctors and nurses rotas, newsletter, website and other admin tasks within the practice.

Secretarial Team

Jane Shanks, Senior Medical Secretary

Jane is our Senior Secretary. She has worked in the practice for many years and is a valued member of the team.

Shona Paterson, Medical Secretary

Shona joined our team on 2009. She again has a great deal of experience including working in the Smoking Matters Service.

Fiona Galloway, Medical Secretary

Fiona is one of our longest serving admin team members. She has moved from the role of receptionist and is now a member of the secretarial team.

Liz Black, Medical Secretary

Liz joined our team in May 2015. She previously worked as an ENT secretary in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

Reception Team

Ann Meechan, Receptionist

Ann is one of our receptionists with many years' experience.  She has admin resposibilty for our stroke patients.

Viv Middleton, Receptionist

Viv is one of our receptionists, having joined the practice in 2011.  In addition to her reception duties, she also provides admin support for patients with peripheral artery disease.

Stephanie Low, Receptionist

Stephanie joined the team at CDMG in 2020 as a receptionist, Stephanie deals with the recall of Diabetic and Cardiac patients.

Gillian Craik, Receptionist

Gillian joined our reception team in October 2021 following 28 years at Barlochan Nursing Home as a senior carer.

Maureen Rooney, Receptionist

Maureen is a member of the reception team. Maureen has worked in the practice for many years.

Maureen is responsible for the recall of COPD patients

Ruth Thomson, Receptionist

Ruth has recently joined the reception team

Julie Beck - Samuels, Receptionist

Julie has recently joined the reception team, she has worked with the practice since March 2022 as a healthcare assistant.
